How to scan a document from printer/copy machine onto computer?

Photo -vs- Document scanner?

  • I had an all in one HP machine that would not scan documents to my computer (image was hyrogliphics), but photos scanned without any problem. Now I am in the market for a document scanner (imaging machine far to expensive for home office), and every sales person is trying to sell me an all in one machine like I had about 2 years ago. Any suggestions or recomendations as to what scanner (dedicated use will be scanning) or if all in one machines work I should purchase?

  • Answer:

It's not the hardware that is the problem. You need document scanning software, check out this program http://www.docsvault.com/ you can download a trial version to see if it will do what you need. Good luck.

There is 2 type of scanner in the market - CCD scanner and LED scanner. CCD is for all purpose and give a very good quality of scanning. LED is for document scanning and will not be good for scanning a photo. But compare to CCD, LED scanner can be really slim and small and the price is a little bit lower. So it just depend on your needs and budget.
