How to print black and white on a HP Deskjet F380?

Why won't my HP Deskjet F380 won't scan?

  • I have a HP Deskjet F380 all in one but one when I press scan the power button flahses (it's plugged in though) yet it'll print and photocopy things fine. Any idea why?

  • Answer:

Go to HP website. Support, driver downloads. If this doesn't work your scanner is ill.

Are you on IE8 ? HP PRINTERS are not compatible with the beta 8 programs.Have you enabled HP updates ? An excellent program to have is from FILE HIPPO.COM .It is an update notifier,a very small program for your desktop that automatically scans your pc and gives you notification of all the latest updates for the programs on your pc that don,t come under microsoft/windows auto updates.Try it and see what it tells you first.

Do you have the scanning software and drivers installed on your PC, because those aren't required for anything other than scanning and may be your issue.

I had this problem with my Olivetti printer/scanner. I re-installed the software for it again. Think it lost the drivers.
