Which printer shall i buy, please help, i want good quality scan?

  • Really confused which printer to buy, the scan resoultion worries me. i want a good quality scanning. the lexmark says 600 x 1200 dpi, does that sound poor quality? The canon has 16/8 bit depth, does that sounds poor quality? Lexmark X2550 All-In-One Printer --------------------------------------… Flatbed Scanner: 600 x 12ppi scan resolution. 36-bit depth colour, 12-bit depth grayscale. >CANON+PRINTER.htmhttp://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6701781/Trail/searchtext>CANON+PRINTER.htm Canon MP170 All-In-One Printer --------------------------------------… Flatbed Scanner: 1200 x 2400dpi scan resolution. 16/8 bit depth >CANON+PRINTER.htmhttp://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6701781/Trail/searchtext>CANON+PRINTER.htm

  • Answer:

Lexmark X2550 is the better one, it has 600x12 Pixel Per Inch which is very good, 36bit depth which is how detailed the image will be the higher bits the more detailed it will be, the other is 1200x2400 Dots Per Inch which is also very good, but 16bit depth so i would go for the lexmark one.

I currently have a canon Pixma MP600 printer, Canon printers seem to have the fastest printing speed. The maximum scanning resolution is 2400 x 4800 dpi which is great as this printer is only around £100 As for scanning speed, it takes about 10 seconds to scan an a4 sheet of A4 paper. There are many other canon printers, As long as you stick wth canon, you should be fine The MP600 has built in memory card reader which you can use to copy photos to pc, it has pictbridge meaning you can use any pictbridge compatiable digital camera with it, it has a neat wee screen with a scroller, you can print directly onto cds, it has a paper casette meaning you cant see the paper which makes it look tidy, When printing the cover for the bit that the paper comes out of, this flap opens automatically , You can use it as a standalone printer, you can clean the nozzle, etc without switching your pc on, you can cope a cd cover directly onto a blank cd, I have tried this andit works great. For the price mark of £120-£120, this is a great printer, you probabaly wont find a better printer than this in this price range. Optical Resolution: the number of pixels per inch recorded by the scanner's image sensor. The greater the optical resolution, the greater the detail that can be captured from the image. The only resolution worthy of consideration is the Optical Resoltuion Normal resolution: The number of pixels that can fit into one inch. I think normal resolution and optical resolution are the same to be honest, I think the term "resolution" is used for display monitors and the term "optical resolution" is used for scanners. So, hope you go for a canon printer, wish you best of luck in choosing your printer.

canon google the rest then buy canon

Go for the Canon.... or better still, try an Epson printer. Lexmark will cost you much more in the long run because of the price of their ink cartridges.

ok. well, it doesnt matter what the manufacturer is. either dell, epson, cannon, lexmark etc.. get whichever 1 u want. the thing u have to think about is, u want to get either an inkjet or laser printer. if u want to print normal, get an inkjet printer, but if u want to print out very quality printing, i mean VERY QUALITY, get a laser printer, however laser printers are very expensive to buy, not all but some and u the ink is also expensive, depending on how much u will print.

I wouldn't go for the lexmark , that's me personally.. they charge WAY too much for the printers. and make money on the ink thats the thing with them, cheap printers (when it comes to support they were far from good) . have a look at www.ebuyer.co.uk for maybe cheaper prices also read the reviews on there. it's not the inital cost of the printer. BUT the ink thats expensive to better to spend more on the printer IF the cost of the ink is cheaper later. I use 2 printers..1 laser, very cheap for printing text at good quality and an inkjet for photos. if i need a mix I just do the text side of the laser, and feed the paper thru the inkjet after for photo's.. yer it's long winded but saves a lot of money.

ive got a lexmark 1200 and the quality is great! had it for ages and never given me any trouble

i would say that the lexmark has on paper the best colour capability over the canon but more importantly the higher the DPI= dots per inch the canon is twice as good as the lexmark which would also make the colour better as it has twice the amount of detail so go for the canon Personally i wouldnt have either id go for epson as cartridges for both lexmark and canon are dearer
