Fingerprint reader not detected?

Hi. I have a laptop with Windows Vista on it. It has a fingerprint reader, but for some reason it doesn't work! :'( When i'm at the user selection screen, I see this message beneath the fingerprint reader icon: Fingerprint Reader is not detected. Anyone know how to solve this?

The problem is most likely in the driver of the fingerprint reader. You see, all the hardware in your computer is connected, but sometimes something need a piece of software to work. In this case its your fingerprint reader.
