Can I Edit scanned docs?

How do I edit pictures that have been scanned?

  • I need help editing my pictures. I have a picture that was scanned and the view is sideways. How do I change the photo around to an upright postion? Also, I'm wondering is Windows Paint good to edit with, or can I edit with Windows Photo Gallery? Thanks in advance. Ps. The pictures were scanned at Sam's Club, I thought they were going to scan the picture upright.

  • Answer:

A lot of the scanners at Sam's Club/Wal-Mart have an option to rotate the picture on the screen, so just remember that for future reference. Any simple editting program will have an option to rotate a picture. You should just be able to save the photo after that so that it's upright!

First of all, you will want a better editor than MS Paint. It's then very easy to rotate the pictures with some more advanced software. I recommend GIMP, it has many features of Photoshop and costs nothing. GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. Other free alternatives would be Paint.net or Picasa from Google.

for just rotation paint and window own program is best and simplest, no need for heavy apllication, good luck!

Look for the rotate 90 degrees command and then save it when it is the way you want it. You can do this with paint i believe.

once it's uploaded, click the rotate button.

You need a proper photo editor like Photoshop Elements, of Paint Shop Pro.

if they are upside down..paint can't fix it but windows picture fax can...the lil green wedge looking icons at the bottom of the screen when the pic is opened w/ the program...than save when oriented correctly
