What is the best 4x6 photo printer?

How do I print out a 4x6 photo from my printer?!?

  • This might sound extremely stupid, but really, I'm not as dumb as you think. I'm trying to print out 4x6 prints from my HP Deskjet F4280 printer... I have tried pretty much every way of printing them out as possible (Windows Photo Viewer and Photoshop, I even tried sticking a memory card into my OTHER printer, which is an HP Photosmart C4795, but I can't get it to work any way). I've had this issue before; what happens is that the photo either prints about two inches and the rest doesn't print (it's just blank space) or it prints almost all the way and leaves an inch or two of blank space. I have only successfully printed ONE photo today, using the memory card method, but when I tried that again, it just left a one inch border at the end. I really am at a loss to what to do. What is a fool proof way to print these photos?! I'm using Staples "photo supreme" gloss paper, 4x6 inches and inkjet compatible. I have Windows Vista and (if necessary,) Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 with the HP Deskjet F4280 and Windows 7 with no special Photoshop software with the HP Photosmart C4795. Thank you for any help I may receive!

  • Answer:

Did you choose the correct page layout in the Printer preferences. I believe there is a 4 x 6 borderless option that should aloow you to print on that format. Make sure YOU select this option.

Your computer(s) and your printer(s) seem to be having problems communicating with one another. I'm guessing you need to update your printer drivers. Here's HP's Support and Drivers site. Start inputting the information they ask for and see if there aren't some updates available for your printer models. http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support_task.html
