The printer doesn't recognize ink cartridge?

If I refill my ink cartridge before my ink gets low, will my printer then recognize the new ink's existence?

  • I have a Lexmark printer and I just refilled the black ink cartridge because a message popped up saying my ink was low. Since I cannot reprogram the chip after it shows an empty status, I am still getting a message that my ink is low after refilling. My question is: If I had refilled my cartridge before letting the ink get so low, would my printer have recognized the new ink since the chip hadn't been set to empty yet? (My understanding is that when the chip gets set to empty, there's nothing you can do at that point. Even if you refill, the cartridge still reads as empty and will not last much longer.) Thanks in advance for your response!

  • Answer:

You are correct ! When ever you refil the cartridge the printer is capable enough to idenfy the content of ink in the cartridge by its own sensors. So donot worry. Re-fill as and when you need
