One More Time - I. T. people: please help!!!! Canon mp 460 printer problem....?
-
OK, this is the last time I ask this ?.!!! I was able to print off the internet right after I installed my canon mp460 printer.....for the past several months, it has not let me print off the internet...only from microsoft-type programs. What could have possibly happened in the last 8 months to keep it from printing off the internet??? Is it possible that I might not have enough memory on my hard-drive? I have System Suite & quite frequently I clean out old files, etc. I'm puzzled!!!!!????? I've even tried uninstalling/reinstalling my printer, but eventhough it says I've succeeded, I still can't get it to print web pages! I've been on the canon tech support sight & done everything I can think of. Thanks for ANY advice/ideas.

Answer:
Are you printing via the "PRINT" icon on the toolbar or via the FILE/PRINT menu option If the former, go to START MENU, SETTING and then PRINTERS and Faxes RIGHT click your MP printer and make sure it is SET AS DEFAULT Now close and reopen internet explorer and it should work again If this doesn't solve it, can you repost the question with some more info on what printer drivers the system has, and if you have tried this

Hi. Try copying the web page to your computer, then print from your computer. Just an idea. (If you could print 8 months ago then your computer hardware is not the problem. Same OS? Win XP and Vista are not the same and some printers just plain do not like Vista.)

Did you go from Internet Explorer 6 to Internet Explorer 7 in the last 8 months? Do you have an alternative browser (Mozilla Firefox) loaded and have you tried to print from it? Let's see if it is really a printer problem or a problem with your browser. If you don't already have it, download firefox from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ and install it. Visit a web page with it and try to print. Then go to the same web page with INternet Explorer and try to print it.

Another option, I found this: Q When trying to print from the internet with Internet Explorer, using either the Print icon or by going to the File menu and selecting Print, I receive an error message and the print doesn’t work. It says: “An error has occurred in the script on this page. Line: 93. Char: 1. Error: Access is denied. Code: 0. URL res://C:WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/pre… The printer is an Epson CX 6600 and it works fine otherwise – all of the other programs on the computer can print without problems. I am using Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2 installed. Trevor Hazelwood A This occurs because a piece of spyware called Surfairy is installed on your computer. One of its side-effects is that it stops Internet Explorer from printing, hence the error message detailed above. To remove Surfairy, click on the Start button and then select Run, and then type ‘c:\program files\surfairy\uninstall.exe’ (without the quotes) and follow any instructions that appear on the screen. If that doesn’t work, or if Surfairy can’t be uninstalled, try using a spyware killer such as Ad-Aware or Spybot Search and Destroy, both of which should be able to remove the program. Failing that, you can stop Surfairy from working by disabling browser extensions in Internet Explorer. To do so, click on the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, and select Options, then the Advanced tab. Scroll down to the entry ‘Enable third-party browser extensions’ and click on it to remove the tick. Click on OK, then restart Internet Explorer. However, this might not remove Surfairy, and it may also disable any toolbars, such as the Google Toolbar, that you have installed.
