How to set up a wireless printer?

How do I set up my HP wireless printer to my Acer laptop?

• I have an Acer laptop with Windows 7 on it, and I have an HP laptop with Windows Vista. I also have an HP wireless printer that is hooked up to my HP laptop but not my Acer laptop. I do not have the CD that sets up the printer to the computer so I was wondering if there was any other way of setting up my wireless printer to my Acer Laptop. I tried calling HP support but you have to pay to get the software downloaded. Is there any other way?

  If the printer is setup to connect wirelessly directly to your HP laptop, it most likely can't be connected wirelessly to your Acer laptop too. Printers can usually only be setup to communicate with one wireless device at a time, so it would work if you had a wireless router that the printer would communicate with directly, then the laptops, and any other computer connected to the router, would communicate with the router to print. But you can try installing and setting up the printer wirelessly on the Acer and see if both the computers can use the printer. As for the setup CD, you can go to HP's website and locate the necessary files (drivers & software) for your printer to download and install on any computer. You can of course connect the printer to any computer using a USB cable.
