How do I scan or fax something that's really long?

My printer keeps on saying fax making it unable to print from the computer. How can i make it say printer?

• I have a hp office jet 4215 all in one printer-fax-scanner- copier. I do not have it connected to the phone line just to the computer, howver it says fax. I tried to print something but it wont because it is in fax mode not in printer mode. There are three buttons one which says fax the other scan and the other copy. But there is no printer one. How do put it in printer mode?

  For example: if you are in a Word document, click Control+P or click File, Print. When the print dialog box opens, at the top, there is the name of a printer. Click the down arrow to display the names of any other printers installed. FAX is one of them. Look for your HP 4214. Select that. Turn it on and click o.k. Someday when you want to FAX, after you complete a Word document, click Control+P or File, Print, then click the down arrow to select FAX. Of course, in order to FAX, you will first have to have configured your FAX by opening the icon on the desktop and setting up send and receive. It comes in handy.
