How do I check the nozzles on my printer for routine maintenance?

My HP psc 2170 printer has begun to print extremely slowly.?

  • I have tried using the Maintenance button which cleaned the cartridges (?) and printed extremely slowly a check sheet. Couldn't seem to get specific help from HP forum. Can't find the huge chart that came with the Printer so can't check the fault list. It is about two years old, and has been the best of printers I have ever had, so far. Can you tell me what might be wrong? (Please?)

  • Answer:

Hard to say if it's slow printing it's own check sheet. If it's slow only when printing from the computer, then it could be that the printer driver is corrupted or out of date due to system OS updates and needs to be updated itself, or it could be another program is using up computer processing power or memory. If you have less than 1GB of memory installed, it would be good to add more to increase speed. You might try powering both the printer and computer down completely and remove the power cords for about 5 minutes, then power them back on and see if that helps. Sometimes that will kind of reset everything.
