Why won't my printer turn on?

My HP printer wont turn on!!?

  • One day the printer is working perfectly and the next it wont turn on at all. When i plug in the printer into the outlet the lights come on and stay on for about 5 seconds and affter that they go off and the printer wont turn on. ive tried holding down the power button or pluggin it into different outlets but no luck. Any advice besides getting a new printer?

    whether the printer is broken or not, it sounds like you are going to have to buy something. you could try getting a new power cord and if it still isn't working, you might consider getting a new printer. they aren't that expensive.

Sounds like you got a bad one. Is it still under warranty? Did you register it? Sometimes you can go onsite and get answers you need. Mine occassionally has it's little fits. Have you programmed it to work offline? I have a fairly recent model that kept doing that until I programmed it to work offline. All my other printers automatically did it. Try turning it on while you're online and see what happens. If not I'd contact HP online and see what they say.
