Where do you refill your ink cartridges?

I want to refill my hp 920 black ink cartridge using refill ink for hp97 blank ink cartridges -is this Ok?

  • I switched printers about a month ago, and my old printer used hp 97 ink for black. My new printer (hp 6500) uses hp 920 cartridges. I still have a bunch of old hp97 ink that I bought off the internet and it worked fine with my old printer (for about 5 years). So, I want to refill the hp 920 catridges with this ink. It's black ink, it's inky, it's black - but will it cause a problem by somehow being too thick or thin or something?

  • Answer:

most cartridges use the same density inks, particularly for similar models. There is little difference in the viscosity of same brand manufacturer inks, though bigger more business orientated printers often have much better quality components the ink is often the common denominator. Will the ink be 100% compatible with your new carts, I would not like to say yes for sure as I have never tried or tested it, all I am saying is they should be similar. You obviously try it at your own risk.

This sounds like you are going to get in a mess, tell me why do you not use the compatibles that are readily available, for all models, they are a fraction of the cost and they work just as well as the factory ones,This I know because that is what I always use and always have, saves a lot of pratting about does it not?
