How much and where can I buy photo paper for my printer?

Can you use a regular printer to print on photo paper?

  • I made a collage of pictures documenting my son's first year. I want to print off an 8.5 x 11 picture and was wondering if i could buy photo paper and print it off with a regular printer. Its saved as a word document. Will it look ok? or do you need a photo printer to print on photo paper? can you even print a word document on photo paper? any help would be great!! Thanks!

Nope.... It will work... Photo printers are just geared more toward photo quality prints... It will look ok not great is all. But if your just doing 4x6's i would just go to walmart or wal greens and have them print them out for like 15 cents each and they wont fade or run if they get wet...

You can use your regular printer, just make sure you change your printing preferences to show that you are using photo paper and set it to a really good quality so that it prints well. Make sure you let it dry well because it seems that sometimes the glossy paper takes a few minutes to dry. Also if you get them wet at all it is true that the ink might just come off. If you take it and get it laminated afterwards or put it in a page saver thing that will help. Good luck!

a laser jet or laser printer should do very well but output will not be as great as that of an all in one printer with ability to handle photo paper. p.s. a jpg is preferable from word doc (i think. do ask walmart to be absolutely sure)
