What is the difference between Black ink and Photo Black ink?

The difference between 'Colour' and 'Photo' ink cartridges for printers?

    The photo cartridge sits in the black ink slot of the printer. The color cartridge needs to be installed in the printer either with the black cartridge or with the photo cartridge. It may not be possible to compare the Photo cartridge with the other cartridges. This cartridge is a special purpose cartridge whose exclusive purpose is to print quality photos. Since the photo cartridge has a less reserve of black ink than the ordinary black cartridge, these cartridges cannot be compared with each other. However, the ink usage and the amount of ink these cartridges spit to print, would be the same with all these cartridges. The difference lies only with the combination of inks it can use when these cartridges are used, i.e., with the black and color cartridges the printer will have the choice of four inks, whereas with color and photo cartridges the printer will have a choice of six inks.

i supose photo ink is for printing photos

photo ink cartridges tend to have less ink & be more expensive. Unless you are a proffessional photographer it shouldn't make much difference

the difference is the quality of ink. with 'Photo' ink cartridges the ink adheres to the photo paper better. 'Colour ' is mainly for normal printing. hope this helps.

in my view colour ink is just as good as long as you have a good printer.

major differences, photo cartridges are made for a specifc type of paper (weight, absorbency etc.) they are also different colours so photo inks (generally 7 of them) will give you a different print out because the driver on the computer tell the printer exactly where and how much of each ink to put where, if you hve the wrong colours, you get the wrong picture
