Dell printer ink cartridge removal.

Dell A920 Printer: Does the color ink cartridge HAVE to be installed in order for it to work?

• I just want to print my stuff with black ink and that cartridge will be full.. i don't want any color but in order for the printer to operate is it mandatory to buy and install the color cartridge?

  Yes, Dell printers require that all cartridges be installed for the printer to print. Dell printers will still print with an empty cartridges but will propt you to order a new cartridges each time you send a print job to the printer. I would recommend leaving the empty color cartridge in the printer and just set your printer to only print in black and white. Dell sells their printers at a loss and make up the money with expensive cartridges. You might want to just toss the free Dell printer you got with your computer and get an inexpensive laser printer. You can get a Samsung or HP for around 100 dollars and toner cartridges have really low cost per page costs assoicated with them.
