What is an excellent quality, cheap printer that can be run wireless?

I want to print dvd label's ( good quality )?

  • My printer seems to print faded looking pic's even though the ink is full ? i have it set on top quality, photo's. but still comes out faded looking. It's a lexmark injet ?? does that explain it ? I'm looking for a new printer that i can print the labels from ( some pic's and some photo's on them ) Please help me find 1 that will giv me good quality output and cheap to run (inks) oh needs to be wireless also. thanks.

    I would agree with Tex, the issue is likely to be the quality of the paper that gives the faded appearance. Many labels are for inkjet printers and are designed for use on text only based labels so quality is not such an issue. This may be the type of paper you are using .Normal paper absorbs the ink ,especially when printing photos as the paper is literally soaked with ink. The paper then sucks the ink away from the surface leaving it looking faded. I use an EPSON though not the cheapest ink I have started using supermarket own brand ink cartridges and the quality does not appear to suffer . Kodak has the cheapest ink but as I have never used one don't know about print quality but as they are a photographic company you would think it would be at least acceptable.You can also buy reconditioned ink cartridges from those refill centres again I have not used them so don't know about the quality but if its bad you should be able to get a refund. As a general rule the cheaper the printer the more expensive the ink . A free printer I was given as part of a bundle cost £95 to replace the ink it was cheaper to buy a new printer each time I wanted ink.
