What laser printer is best to get?

How many pages can I get out of a laser printer and what is a duty cycle?

  • I'm considering getting a laser printer and trying to find out if its cheaper to use laser toner or inkjet cartriages. The inkjet cartriages are expensive and I have to keep buying them. Would a monocrome toner cartriage get me more pages for less money than a handfull of inkjet cartriages?

  • Answer:

We have laser printers with over 300K prints on the original drum, so yeah, they last a long time. There are 'extended' toner carts that are supposed to give 25-30K, but I don't know what kind of coverage they give. There are also self refill kits available. If you don't need color and print a lot, it is the way to go.

if you don't need to print-out images or anything in color, monochrome laser may be the way to go for you. well, assuming you need to do high-volume printing. Laser is often better than inkjet when it comes to black text, but at just about anything else, you can find better quality in inkjet prints. Laser printers are better at churning out a higher number of pages per "cartridge" though, this is true. As far as cheaper, the toner cartridges themselves aren't any cheaper than ink carts, but they have a larger capacity which usually makes cost per page cheaper on the laser side. As far as the specifics, check the specifications from the manufacturer before buying, check what toner carts the model in question uses and look at prices, etc.

take a look at the Konica Minolta Color Laserjet printers. They are priced about the same as an HP, and you get far superior print quality out of them. The price for toner cartridges is cheaper than it's competitors also.

Duty cycle is a term that means how much use the manufacturer has designed the printer for. Generally it's measured in pages per month, and the number depends on the particular model. The best source of information is the manufacturer's website. A laser printer will cost you a little more money up front, but long-term you get a lot more bang for your buck than with an inkjet. On a cost-per-page basis, a laser is a steal compared to an inkjet.

I used to and inkjet printer for a period of time, and not only it was a waste of money, it wasn’t that great at all. I’m currently using a Brother laser printer, there the cheapest, but also work the greatest. Currently by printer can print up to 6700 pages after the toner runs out, the toner is a little close to $100, but it’s worth it, rather than keep paying $20 every week for only 100 pages.

Correct

Dont forget you can adjust the amount of ink used in an ink printer. E
