Why won't my printer connect to my laptop? (error message: "communication not available")?
-
I have a Dell laptop and a Dell Photo All-In-One 926 printer. The printer plugs into my laptop by USB. My printer works fine, as I have copied papers using it. I tried using the troubleshooter, and all it told me was to plug and unplug and turn off and turn back on things, and then they should work. >=/ I've tried. The only problem is connecting for both scanning and printing. I've tried plugging the USB into all 6 different USB ports, same problem. Help?

Answer:
FIRST OFF IF YOUR RUNNING VISTA YOU NEED TO GET THE DRIVERS FOR IT TO RUN. IF NOT UN INSTALL ALL THE SOFTWARE FOR IT AND UNPLUG IT FROM YOUR LAPTOP. NOW REINSTALL ALL THE SOFTWARE AND WHEN PROMPTED PLUG THE USB AND LET WINDOWS FIND YOUR PRINTER AND CONFIGURE YOUR PORT AND THEN IT SHOULD WORK BEST OF LUCK.
