Will this ink work on my printer?

If have not used a printer for 3 years..& the ink cartridges dont work..will it help to place them in hot H20?

  • have heard that you can make them unclog by placing them in hot water..and then letting them dry..but just wanted to make sure of this before try it. also, what are the chances will have to replace the printer head too? and would this mean that it might be cheaper to just by a new printer? any help appreciated.

  • Answer:

It really depends on the printer. If the ink cartridges contain the ink & printhead in one unit, then you'll really need to replace the cartridges - it's been sitting around too long that nothing you do will help other than replacing the cartridges. If your printer has separate printheads from the ink cartridges, then that means there are ink tubes that carry the ink to the printheads. After 3 years the ink may have dried too much in the tubes that it may not be able to work again even if you replace the ink cartridges and printheads. It may be time for a new printer.
