How do i check how much ink is left in my printer?

Dell A940 printer? it has ink left ,, but wont print the ink?

  Inkjet ink dries quite quickly and the jets get plugged in the cartridge (that's why I went to using laser exclusively; it's cheaper in the long run). Try using a fiber free cloth (don't use a cotton ball!) and alcohol to clean the "dots" on the face of the cartridge. Also under tools in your printer software run the head cleaning program. If this doesn't work, get new cartridges or better yet spend the buck and by a laser. I doubt if your problem is the resolution setting but just in case make sure that it is set to "default" in your printer software; this should be 300dpi.
