How do you scan multiple documents on an hp printer/scanner?

I have a HP Photosmart C3180 All in one printer. I am trying to scan some documents...?

and it won't let me. I have used it to scan before but it has been about 6 months ago. When I press the scan button, the power button on the front of the printer just starts blinking. I went to HP's website and tried downloading the full driver again like it said to do, and it's still not working. I'm not sure what else to do. I also can't find the HP solutions center on my computer anywhere. I may have uninstalled it unknowingly. If you have any suggestions please let me know. I'm getting very frustrated. Thank you so much in advance.

Hi Un-install all the scanner software. Now power on the scanner and remove the USB cable from the scanner. Now install your software and the program will tell you to connect the USB to the scanner.Do it, and let the installation complete itself. Reboot andw indows will finde the new hardware. Now choose Photoshop or the software that came with the scanner and select acquire.
