Printer problems with HP printer.

HP 4500 printer MORE problems - scanning?

  • This printer is starting to become the ultimate in pain now. My printer is finally set up despite the attempts of BT homehub. I am having trouble scanning this time. I've set the documents in the feeder, gone onto the HP solution centre to start the scan off and gone through the motions to scan the document. The scan completes, everything looks fine, then I click the 'finish' button which SHOULD send the pdf/document to my 'my scans' folder. It doesn't, I've tried all manner of document selection. I've also tried the 'direct to email' option just in case. I've tried reinstalling the printer and it makes no difference. The only thing I can see that is odd, is when I click the finish button (when the scanning is complete), the progress bar which shows the 'progress' of sending the pdf to the hard drive only ever goes half way. There has to be something simple causing this surely? The only thing I can think would cause a problem would be sharing settings on the PC...but the printer I've just removed (a HP 4300) never had this issue. Please advise asap as I'm getting to the point where I'm going to return this pile of non-functioning-rubbish to the shop where it came and I've only got 60 days from beginning of June.

  • Answer:

Go in control panel and click on scanners and cameras. You should see the HP scanner icon there. Click it and scan from THAT menu.
