USB Flash Drive doesnt work on my printer???

hi i just bought the SanDisk USB Flash Drive and my computer recognizes it but my scanner doesnt recognize the device when i plug it into my printer. i have the HP Photosmart C6180 All-in-One printer which has a scanner, fax, and copy machine as well..and when i plug it into my printer it says "Unknown device. Disconnect device. Refer to printer documentation to troubleshoot." i tried disconnecting the device and the same message appeared. how do i fix this?? the flash drive works on my computer but not on my printer...help!!!

So use your computer and send what ever you want to your printer, that is what normal people do. Does your printer have a capability of navigating a USB stick? Documentation?

i believe the connection on ur printer/scanner is a pictbridge connection and not a usb. although they look similar they are in fact different and this could be the cause of ur problem.

have you gone throug the user's manual. maybe you have to put some files in the flash drive so that the printer can recognise the flash drive

1. Sounds like there is some sort of compatibility issue. I can not see any notes about this on HP's website. It could be something about the way the Flash Drive is formatted, I really can't say. 2. Is there a reason it is so important for the Printer to read it, especially when the Computer does read it.
