Whenever I try to print something it will not print. When I click on the printer icon in my task bar it says t

  • Whenever I try to print something it will not print. When I click on the printer icon in my task bar it says that it is deleting one of the printing jobs and it seems to be stuck. How can I fix this???? I'm using Windows XP and have a Hewlett Packard printer.

    There are several things to try: Make sure your printer is happy. If lights are blinking, it might want ink, paper, etc. Turn everything off. Make sure you unplug your printer, not just push the button on the front. Turn everything back on and try again. On the Control Panel, find the "Printers" item, click on it to see the list of printers, right-click on the problem printer, and select "cancel all documents" (or something close to that). Run the HP printer utilities, and go through the troubleshooting steps.

your print spooling program is probably just frozen. Restart your computer and it should bring up a window letting you know that there was a document that it was trying to print. Happens to me all the time. :)

unplug the printer and then plug it in. restart your computer. then try. if it doesnt work, open the hp printer software and try troubleshooting.

I would power the printer off and then cancel all jobs in the printer queue on your computer. Wait till the queue is empty, be patient, might take a few minutes after you select cancel. Then restart the printer, try printing again.
