Why can't I print PDF files?

My .mus files can't "print to file" into a .pdf format... HELP?

• I just installed a "slipstreamed" OS on my laptop. I used a program called FINALE 2010 which creates a .mus file... Before i changed OS, I used to just click PRINT TO FILE from Finale and this .mus file is transformed into .pdf and thus, i can just copy them to a USB disk and have them printed outside (since more internet shops have Acrobats or other PDF progs and can easily print the converted .mus) NOW, i can not get this command to work. Everytime i try, it says "i must install a printer first" (OK, I DON'T HAVE A PRINTER CURRENTLY)... But even before, i used to just "print to file" and the .mus file is converted to .pdf easily.... DID I MIS-TWEAK my services.msc? What RELATED-services should i make automatic or manual (i guess that included the spoolsv.exe---i turned it on alright) for me to be able to do it again?   If you have a mac it's a little easier. Here are the steps for both... --- Macintosh: Creating PDF's in Mac OS X is just as easy as printing a file: Open the file in your Finale family notation program. From the File menu, choose Print. If you are given a Page Setup window, click OK. In the Print window, click on the PDF button at the bottom. In some versions of the Mac OS X, you will be given options. Select Save as PDF. Enter the name you would like to give the PDF file and choose a location to save it to (you may wish to save it to the Desktop for convenience). This will save the PDF, and then open it in Apple's Preview program. --- Windows: In order to create PDFs yourself on Windows, you will need a PDF creator. There are many commercial and free products available that can be used to create PDF files, and can be located by searching for PDF creator in your Internet search engine. Once installed, follow the steps below: Open the file in your Finale family notation program. From the File menu, choose Print. In the Print window, click Setup. In the Print Setup window, click the Print Name drop-down menu and choose your PDF creator. Click OK twice. Your Finale family notation program will print to the your PDF creator. In your PDF creator, you may be presented with options for your PDF file. When prompted, enter a name you would like to give the PDF file, and choose a location to save it to (you may wish to save it to the Desktop for convenience). Click Save.
