My Canon printer came without usb cable. Can I use any usb cable with it?
-
And actually, does it matter if my cable is USB 1.0 or 2.0? Is it only the speed or are there other compatibility issues. No risk to damage the device? Many thanks in advance!

Answer:
It does not matter about USB 1.0 or 2.0, but you must get a USB cable that has the printer connection. Not all USB cables will work, in fact, most will not.

I've seen cables that said 'USB 2.0' but I think the cables themselves are the same. Any USB cable will work so long as it has the right connectors on it.

Yes. The cable doesn't care if it's 1 or 2.

As long as it is meant for USB printers then you can use it.

Just needs to be one deigned for printers as the port is a little different on the printer, however any old cable will do.
