Why wont my printer print?

• I have a Epson stylus CX7400 series printer and it wont printer un-less i have all the inks. I have black ink but i dont have yellow, magenta, and blue. I just need to printer put a paper for school but it wont print. can sum1 help and tell me how to print without the other inks or do i have to go and buy them?

  From what I've heard about Epson printers, you cannot print unless you have full cartridges. (with my canon printer, you can force the printer to print even with dry tanks): it has something to do with longevity of the print heads, because you could damage your printer if it tries to print with empty ink tanks. In the meantime, however, try this: remove the empty ink tanks from the printer. Then, turn off your printer and wait a bit. You might as well shake up the ink tanks. Then, turn on your printer and put in the tanks back in again. You might be able to "fool" your printer for an hour or two until it notices that the tanks are still dry. Good luck!
