What is the difference between R4 and SD cards for dsi's?

Answer:

SD cards are just memory cards. An R4 card is a modded game cartridge. The R4 will require SD cards for storage of games. As a side note, the R4 will not work with the dsi, you need the R4i.

Hello, The sd card is really limited and can only play music files and images. The R4 card allows you to play backups, watch movies, listen to music in more file formats, run emulators for older systems, a whole lot more. If you're looking to get genuine cards for your ds (there are fakes out there), I managed to find this site after I got burned at a few others http://www.dscardworld.com . Loved having my emails responded to because I had loads of questions, and they were quick to ship it. US based support and shipping I believe. Best of luck!
