• I want to buy a printer for college, and have seen many different types. I was told that inkjet printers, the cartridges last longer. Is it the same for laser printers as well? Anybody experience with inkjet printers, how long do the cartridges last? I have an office printer at my house. The cartridge goes out really quick. I just want something that's worth buying, and the cartridges doesn't run out so much. I was told inkjet cartridges last about a year or so depending on use? Thanks!

  Actually, it's just the opposite as laser toner tends to last much longer than inkjet cartridges. The downside is the laser toners cost more, but do generally last longer. From a cost to print standpoint, the laser toner models offer more bang for the buck, but laser models tend to cost more as well.
