How will work laser printer?

Will a network-capable laser printer work on my wireless network?

  • I am planning a laser printer purchase in the near future for at-home use (although fairly heavy use -- 40-60 pages a day). There is one particular model that my research is pointing me towards, and there is an option to purchase the upgraded version of the printer for about $50 more that includes a networking feature. I realize that it does not have wireless capability in and of itself, but I was wondering if the networking capability means that I can plug this printer into my wireless router and thus use it wireless-ly from the other computers on my wireless network within my house. Any information is very much appreciated!

    I think that there is also an adapter or card that you can purchase separately to plug into a USB plug on your printer so that it can communicate wirelessly with your computer (kinda like a wireless network adapter card for a laptop).

If you use Windows you can probably skip it if you don't want to spend the extra money. Just connect the printer to a desktop computer, right click and share it on the network. Then once you got it setup to use with all the other computers, you should print no problem. Note the main computer must be on for it to work this way. See if your router has a specific plug for a printer, or a ethernet port. It should work on your wireless network.
