Why doesn't Samsung printer work?

Why doesnt printer work on vista?

  • bought a new laptop with windows vista, when i tried to load my printer onto the laptop it said my printer drivers don't support vista . Is there anything else i can do other than buying new printer( have got a HP PSC ) is a few years old but I don't really want to spend out on another printer if i can avoid it ??

  • Answer:

Check on the HP wed site to see if they have a driver for Vista for the model number you have and download it. If not then the printer is no good to you and you will have to buy one that is Vista compatible.

There are a large number of printers which are NOT supported by Windows Vista. My wife's Lexmark also was not supported by Vista. When she loaded the driver update from the manufacturer, Vista would delete it when she re booted the system. Try to download the latest drivers from HP. This may help, but the deleting that vista did to the Lexmark drivers may happen to you too. By the way, this is one of many reasons that vista in HATED by the computer using community. We finally bought and re loaded XP on her laptop and it runs fine now. VISTA BLOWS.

Unfortunately, because you didn't state which model of printer you have, I can't check to see if there are Windows Vista drivers available for it. What you need to do is click on the following link ... to the HP (USA) website, click on the little circle next to where it says: Download drivers and software (and firmware), and then enter your model number in the space, just below where it says: Enter a product name / number, then click Go>>. This will take you to a page where you select which Operating System your computer uses. Obviously, you'll need to click on either Microsoft Windows Vista or Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit) ... dependent on whether you're running 32-bit or 64-bit Vista. I do hope that there are drivers available for your printer.

How old is your printer? It may be that your printer is too old and is not Vista compatible. You can try going to HP website, find your printer, find support, see if any Vista drivers. If not, the latest XP drivers may work. There are some tricks to make it work, I forget. Try searching XP printer not working on Vista computer.
