Is it possible to print web content on thermal printer?

Why won't my HP Officejet wireless 4500 printer not print web pages?

  • It prints fine as long as it's not printing something that involves being online. Although it has a wireless option I don't use it. I'm connected to my PC with the USB. I noticed that after setting up the printer the it created a port called DOT4. The HP printer is an All-in-One so it uses 2 ports, one for the printer and one for the fax (which I also don't use). Anyway the fax and the printer both default to a port called, USB002-virtual port for USB. Can someone help me get this printer to print web pages while I'm on them?

  • Answer:

If webpages print out as blank pages or with only a couple lines of metadata (date, filename or other text) on them using Internet Explorer (I have IE8, but I doubt it is restricted to this version), select Internet Options under Tools in the menu at the top lefthand portion of your screen. Click on the Advanced tab at the top of the options window. Scroll down to the section titled Printing and make sure the box is checked next to "Print background colors and images." If it is not, click on the box to put a check mark in it. Next, click on the Apply button and then the OK button at the bottom of the options window. This should solve the problem.
