What's the difference between "Copy" paper and "Multipurpose" Paper?

Whats the difference between injet glossy paper and laser glossy paper.?

  • Why doesnt color laser glossy paper work in my inkjet printer???

  • Answer:

Laser paper will probably work in an inkjet printer, but you wouldn't be able to go the other way (print on inkjet paper from a laser printer.) Try it! The worse that happens is it comes out looking funny.

Inkjet paper must soak up the ink or it stays wet and smudges. Laser paper does not have to soak up the ink as the print is made by melting coloured particles onto the paper so it is never wet. So it does not have to be absorbent. Using non absorbent paper in an inkjet makes a smeary mess. RoyS

Laser glossy paper has very low absorbancy for the ink. Ink jet ink will not be absorbed, it will run. In the Laser, the toner is held to the surface with electrostatic charge and then fixed to the surface with heat.

One is to be used with an inkjet (standard) type printer, and the other a laser printer, which is more advanced.
