What happens if I do poorly on a civil service test?

HP Deskjet 1220C Test Page?

  • I have the following problem with two printers of this kind. The printer keeps printing a test page after each document I send to the queue. It happens to both printers on different PCs, it's also happening when I brought them to my workshop and installed them on my own computer. I thought of trying to solve this using the HP Deskjet 1220 Toolbox but the HP site no longer provides this software since the driver is offered through Windows Update on Windows 7 Ultimate. I can't find any other information about it in service/user manuals. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks in advanced.

  • Answer:

"It only says HP Deskjet 1220 and it has many black rectangles after it." That's the alignment page, not a test page. It should also have many colored rectangles, probably blue but possibly yellow. If not, then alignment will not complete and the printer will continue trying to align or calibrate until it senses a properly printed alignment page. Most likely, installing a functioning color cartridge along with the black will allow alignment to complete then the issue will be resolved.

Hopefully this will solve the test page issue Please follow exactly and IN ORDER. 1. Turn off the printer and wait 10 seconds. Turn it on again 2. Let the printer print the test page. 3. After the test page is printed, disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer to your computer. DO NOT turn off the printer while disconnecting the USB cable. 4. Place the test page on the scanner glass and press the SCAN button on the printer. The ON light will flash as the page is being scanned. 5. Remove the test page when the ON light is steady. 6. Finally, turn off the printer and wait another 10 seconds. Then turn it on again. No more printing test pages! Yay! (You may now reconnect the printer to your computer via the USB cable.)
