How do I make my printer stop printing a test page at power up?

  • I have an HP All-in-One model PSC 1510xi. Since I inserted a new ink cartridge, it started printing an unwanted test page whenever I turn it on. That wastes paper and ink. Is there a way to make it stop?

    I had a similiar problem. I belive u have to scan the print page to stop it with the lines on . tahts how mine stoped.

The printer needs to be "aligned". Take the paper that was printed out and put it face down on the glass. Press the SCAN button. This will take care of the problem until you replace the ink cartridges (the printer will again need to be aligned).

i hav the same problem wiht HP PSC 1400 inkjet..... but i can stop this to print a test page at startup.... when it starts up then do not insert any sheet in the printer.... when it try to print a test page it says the message or indigator for paper feed.... then press the cancel button... it will be return to idle mode.. now u can print normally...

you need to complete the test. after the paper prints out then instert it into the scanner part and click the scan button to finalized the test. ( be sure arrows are facing the right way... ) then it will be fine.. I have the same exact Printer...

it's GOT to be inb your settings. click start-printers and faxes and RIGHT click on your printer select properties and look around ALL of the tabs for a radio button that says "print test page on startup". It's gotta be there.
