How can I reset the ink cartridge chip by a software?

Does anyone know about refilling HP 2210v's and chip resetters?

  • I'm ordering some pigmented ink to refill my HP 2210v. I understand that once I refill the ink, it might not work till I reset the chip. Is anyone familiar with doing this? I've read a few sites that talk about putting a piece of tape over a few of the contacts. Does that work? Is there an easier way like some software that will fool the cartridge into working? I hear that the HP cartridges also have a date issue possibly and I might have an issue with this. Any smart computer people, please fill me in on what I need to look into doing once I get these refilled.

  • Answer:

Many of the local refillers will replace the HP chip with a generic one. I am not exactly sure about that exact model but recommend you take it to one of your locals and ask them about it. I think it is about 3 bucks extra the first time you refill for that chip but then you bever have to worry about it again.
