What paper do I need to use?

Do you need a certain type of printer to use picture paper?

  • I'm wanting to print out some pictures of my son, but I don't want to do it on normal paper, I heard it looks better on picture paper.. Is there a certain type of printer you need for picture paper? Or do any work?

    Most printers will print on picture paper, but laser printers work best. With inkjet printers, you run the risk of the ink smearing or not printing correctly. Specially designed photo printers work best, but they can run up to several hundred dollars a printer, and fifty-plus dollars per printer cartridge. Also, when you're getting ready to buy the picture paper, check the labels. It should tell you what printer is best suited for that particular kind of picture paper, and if your kind of printer will work well (or at all) with it.

You can do it on an inkjet printer but you will probably get better results on a laserjet printer. If you don't have access to one at home or work then try a local print shop in your area.

You really don't have to, but it works best on a photo printer (ink).

no you don't. But certain printers will print better with pictures in general and on picture paper then others.
