HP wireless printer won't scan?

I just purchased the HP 3050 deskjet all-in-one j610 series printer, it's wireless and everything works except for the wireless scanner. If i push the button on the printer it says to try and scan from the computer then when i try from the computer it pops up an error message 'An error occurred while scanning'. I just want to make sure that there is nothing wrong with the printer in case i need to take it back. Can someone please help me I have searched the HP website and it was no help at all. Thanks :)

Contact HP . Talk to a tech support person and have them talk you through the proper settings. This would be your best option. Here is the HP site, You have several options. On line live chat, email or telephone tech support (Telephone support is not free unless it is still under warranty) 1-800-474-6836 On line live chat would be the fastest I use, and like their service It is FREE 24/7
