How can i install my printer without the software cd?

CD/DVD Driver disappears when I install the software to my Epson CX6000 Printer/Scanner?

• I have been looking for an answer to this problem....I went to the Epson web site and made sure the Epson CX6000 printer was compatible with my Acer Aspire 5610 notebook...But everytime I install the soft ware for the printer, the cd/dvd driver will disappear...the drive is completely gone...all that appears on my cpu is my D drive and C drive ..I can't figure it out....Please help....Thank you!

  Never seen that one before, is it a USB type external CD--rom or built into the laptop? I just looked up your printer and it appears to have a flash card reader on it, I suspect that their driver is "dumb" and stealing the drive letter of you CD-rom. You need to be logged in as administrator or have the equivilent rights, if you don't know just try the following Go to control panel--administrative tools-->computer management-->disk management...right click on the cd-rom or removable disk ..whcihever is there and select change drive letter, move it to a higher letter. I am almost positive this is what is wrong. Windows (or a poorly written assumptive driver) does this all the time
