What is wrong with my printer ?

What's wrong with my printer?? HELP!?

• Hi guys, for the past few weeks I've been having severe printer trouble. These isn't your standard printer problems either. When I left for vacation, for some reason of another my father unplugged the cable connecting the printer to the tower. I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem, but when I went to print after I plugged the printer back in it wouldn't print; the printer status read "offline". So I went to the printer on my control panel and switched it. There was a check next to the printer's picture that said "ready". Now when I went to print again the status read "no responding" with a yellow exclamation point sign. When I went back to the print section on my control panel it read "error" this time. Now after research I have...Installed an updated driver, checked for updates on the comp/printer, checked and restarted the spooler, went through all the ports (when changed status reads "ready" only for a few seconds and then changes back to error), rebooted the whole system, and rebooted the printer. I also ran windows troubleshooter which checks all common printer problems such as connectivity, spooler, and driver problems and everything came up good. So I have no clue as to what the problem could be. My printer is around 2 1/2- 3 years old and is a Canon Pixma MP480 which works fine and still prints scans and pictures just not anything off the computer. The computer also works fine and is a compaq presario make and I have windows vista.

  Some times, with USB, if you unplug a printer and plug it back in, Windows Re-installs the driver. Go in to your control panel, then printers and faxes. Delete anything that says canon printers. Unplug the USB cable, then plug it back in. Windows should automatically re-install the driver. Wait about 5 minutes and try to print again.
