My printer will not recognise the driver disc that came with it, nor any drivers that I download.?

How can I get my HP Photosmart 3100 printer to work? I had to uninstall it to de-bug my laptop but now it wont recognise the driver disc or any drivers I have downloaded from the internet.

What operating system are you using? Ahh! I had this problem with HP3180 - find the HP folder on the C drive - delete it - then go to ADD REMOVE PROGRAMMES and remove ALL the HP installed software - when done restart and install the software - then connect the printer. I had to do this after an update from HP

I experience problems everytime I try to download new printer software. Everytime it has not worked correctly, it was because of a twain gliche..i just go to the hp site software downloads and choose the complete install..also you can usually run a troubleshoot program that will recognize problem and help you eliminate it...good luck..it's a pain huh!?
