Why does gedit print cover pages?

How can I print high-quality cover stock at home?

  • I publish small chapbooks and print the pages and covers on my laser printer. The covers always give me trouble. I generally use 80lb paper and have trouble with curling and/or shadowing. Does anyone have any suggestions for a type of printer to buy or other options?

  • Answer:

80 pound card stock is tough to print on, unless you've got a commercial printer, but there are a few things you can try. Check your printer settings and choose the paper type you're using. "Thick Paper" or "Card Stock" may be one of the choices. With heavy paper, you'll likely have to specify the manual feed paper tray if you have one. Give those things a try and see how things turn out. If your paper is still curling and shadowing, you might just consider going to The UPS Store or Staples print center to have them print your cover pages. Thier prices are quite reasonable and they should have the equipment to do the tough jobs.
