My black ink wont work on my cannon MP390 series?

i just bought a new cartridge cleaned the heads of the printer everything i can think of but the black ink wont work. color is working fine

Answer:
you may have a clogged print head. the built in cleaning flushes the head with ink in the hope of washing out a clot but ink will not dissolve ink. I have used this $7 kit on epson, canon and brother, including printers which were not printing at all. It works most of the time. http://ccs-digital.com/epson-head-cleaner.asp
