Will an HP ink cartridge 98 work in an HP 60 photosmart printer?
-
I'm out of ink and I found a brand new 98 black ink cartridge and was wondering if it would work in my 60 printer. I don't want to break my printer so please tell me if it's not safe. Thanks :)

Answer:
no, it won't. The chip on the cartridge is specific to the printer. But a 60xl (triple capacity cartridge) will work in the 60 printer. generally there's a small difference in cost between the 60 and the 60xl and a big difference in how long it lasts. http://ccs-digital.com/showink.asp?showcartridge=HP-60

Other answers
obviously not. They have different drivers which are not compatible to other printer even it is made by HP
All ink cartridges are made printer specific. They can not be interchanged with each other, So the answer is no.
