Why won't my printer print?

Why wont my printer PRINT!!!!?

  • My printer has been working fine but now it wont print. I have all cables plugged in, the power is on, It lets me print test pages through the printer like cartridge tests and paper aligning, but when I open up a word document to print it wont print it just goes to the "documents pending to print" and doesnt do anything. It was working before and i didnt change anything.

    Try opening the printer folder, RIGHT clicking on the printer and check the "Use printer offline" or "pause printer" are BOTH unchecked. if one or both have a tickl, UNTICK them

Open up your printers file usually clicking on the icon will do this,if not go to all programs, hit print and it will start the printer.If your printer is a lexmark they are famous for this little glitch.

if windows xp do the following... go to start control panel, admin tools, services and scroll through look for something that says print spooler stop the service then restart it this should work for you

...not sure if this is the problem but my printer will not print if one of the four colour cartridges is empty good luck... DONT GIVE US ALL THE THUMBS DOWN, WE ARE JUST TRYING TO HELP
