Printer is not printing, even with new ink?

Printer is printing out blank pages. I have ink and it is perfectly hooked up. It even makes printing sounds.?

  • HP Photosmart C4580. When I go to print a document, the printer will do its thing. Sucks a page in, and starts making printing sounds. But it's like there's no ink. Nothing prints. But I know there is ink since I can print a test page just fine in full color, also all indicators say printer is fine and has high amount of ink. It just prints nothing.

  • Answer:

Well, it sounds like the ink cartridges are fine since the test page prints OK. First thing I'd suggest would be to power the printer and computer off, reseat the communication cable and make sure it's fully plugged in. Power them both back on and try again. If that fails try a different USB port on the computer to see if that changes anything. If that fails, then you may need to delete the printer from the computer and reinstall it. If that fails, then again delete the printer, download the latest printer driver from HP and install the printer using the new driver. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=219&product=3418707 Best of luck.

I know this may sound stupid to you, but have you taken the covers off the printer cartridges in your machine? It happened to a friend of mine and he was one second away from throwing his printer out the bedroom window! lol. So just check, o.k.? or else try another cartridge first. Have a great day!
