How do I install an HP Deskjet f180?

Hp Deskjet 1000 j110 refusing to install Hp Deskjet 1000 j110 series?

  • We have a new printer, the hp deskjet 1000 j110, and when installing it says it cant install the Hp Deskjet 1000 j110 series. I don't really know what this means. The laptop we are trying to install it on runs with windows 7, and something happened with the laptop a month or 2 ago which wipped everything off (programmes, ect) but you can still access everything but only when opening something with a certain programme. I am wondering if it has wiped something vital off for the printer to install properly...

  • Answer:

it is possible the drivers are corrupt, try downloading them from the HP website and install again (uninstall and reboot before reloading) http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=4066376&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=4066042 IT does sound like Windows may actually be damaged though, your best option is to save what you need to keep on an external drive or to a CD or DVD and reload Windows and this will resolve any issues with the printer software and with other programmes you may have issues with.

I would think about resetting it back to how it was when you got it. You should have disks to do this OR you should have a recovery partition. Press F11 at startup to get to the recovery options (most brands, some use F10 or other it should say in the manual). Copy off all your user files before doing this because it will reset it back to exactly how it was when bought. If you do not want to do this then try this option first... run sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt, this forces windows to check (& fix if corrupt) all the system files Open an elevated command prompt XP - Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as.., in the next box select the specific user option and select administrator. Vista/windows 7: Method 1 - Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. Method 2 - Click Start, type cmd.exe , When the Instant search results are shown, right-click the cmd.exe entry and choose Run as administrator In the command prompt box type sfc /scannow and press enter
