How to share my printer via 7 to xp?

How do I share my printer from XP to Vista?

  • I have Vista Home Prem. on my laptop However on my Deskstop I have Windows XP which is the main. I have tried numerous times to connect the HP 950 PSC All in one printer (which is connected to the XP) through networking the computer but it has failed. I would also like to share files fromm one pc to laptop. Btw how do you find the TCP/IP?

  • Answer:

If you have a network set up then as long as your files have been set to allow sharing you'll have no problems... for the printer you'll need to visit the HP website and see if they have a Vista driver for it, if they do, download it on to your XP computer and install it on there as an upgrade of your existing driver, then on your laptop click on start>network and in the network window click on add a printer and follow the instructions that come up. I did this same routine today with a Lexmark all-in-one.
