What is an inkjet printer that would be comparable to a laser one?

Should I opt for a laser printer scanner or an inkjet one?

  • Answer:

a laser printer scanner is expensive compare to a regular inkjet, so unless you do a lot of printing from your home office, I wouldn't get it. "a lot of printing" is maybe making a bunch (50 pages) of copies for documents for work everyday.

i believe lasers are better for business docs, they are faster and have better quality than ink-jet.. b&w: $150+. color:$400+ ink-jets are more precise, decent quality, better for home use inexpensive $100- replace ink cartridges can be pricey good luck!!

If you print a lot of documents then you might want to go for the laser printer. The laser printer is much more expensive but is worth your while because the ink last longer. These are the same printers that librarys, schools, and workplaces use because lots of papers are printed. Inkjet printers is the printer you want if you don't print very often. It is cheaper. Ink will not last that long and it is very expensive to refill if you increase your use. Remember Inkjet is the way to go if you won't be printing often. Good luck

It depends on what your main goal is. If you need high quality photos, I havent seen a laser which can approach an inkjet for photo quality. If your goal is saving money, an inkjet will be cheaper. If your goal is speed and sharp text, laser wins. My approach is to get some of each. I use a color laser for most of my work and inkjets for when I need high quality photos. The copying/scanning I got with the inkjet since that option is much more expensive on a laser. I have a Ricoh CL1000N color laser, 31 pages per minute. I have several Epson multifunction printers. I recommend Epson because they have the best warranty and the cheapest ink. The best deal in a photo inkjet printer is the Epson Artisan 800 refurb direct from epson.com for $109. It's a wireless copier/scanner/fax/photo/CD printer with 6 individual ink cartridges for high photo quality. The best warranty in the industry. For two years, Epson will fedex a replacement and pick up the old one should you need it. If that's beyond your budget there are several models in the $50-$80 range with 1 year warranty like the NX415 and workforce 600. Triple capacity ink cartridges for Epson are under $3 and you can get 11 free cartridges every month at http://www.ccs-digital.com/freeink.asp

Laser if you can afford it.
